About
Mark Matthew Palmer is a psychotherapist and Jungian Analyst (Analytical Psychologist) living and working in Dublin, Ireland. He trained with the Guild of Analytical Psychologists (GAP) in London and completed his psychiatric placement at St. John of God Hospital in Dublin. He is a registered member of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), a full clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). He is also a member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), the Irish Analytical Psychology Association (IAPA), and the Irish Society of Jungian Analysts (ISJA).
Since 2022, Mark has been teaching Jungian psychology on the Guild of Analytical Psychology's postgraduate clinical training and introductory courses, and serves as Coordinator at the Guild, overseeing training and membership. In 2023, he accepted an Associate Lecturer position at PCI College, Ireland, where he lectures in Jungian psychology, psychoanalytic theory, and advanced psychodynamic theory for years 3 and 4 of the BSc Honours Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy. In 2025, he took on a lecturer and group discussion facilitator role on the British Psychotherapy Foundation's CPD course on Psychodynamic and Jungian Theory for Qualified Practitioners, as well as a guest lecturer role at TUS Limerick School of Art and Design on their MA in Art, Psyche and the Creative Imagination.
Alongside his clinical and academic work, Mark is a multidisciplinary artist working in sound, written word, video, and performance. He graduated from Dublin's National College of Art and Design with a BA in Fine Art in 2002 and has exhibited in Belfast, Dublin, London, Turkey, Canada, Berlin, and Glasgow. He holds an MA in Spirituality from Milltown Institute and has a keen interest in the interface between mystical theology, contemplative practice, and transpersonal/depth psychology. He has also worked as a songwriter, composer, music director, and performer, most notably as music director, composer, lyricist, and performer for the sold-out Dublin Theatre Festival 2015 new musical 'I'm Your Man'.
