About

Dr. Marion Anderson is a certified Jungian analyst and licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Santa Monica, California. She holds a Ph.D. and is certified through the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles (CGJLA) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), as well as being a Certified Sandplay Therapist through the Sandplay Therapists of America (STA) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST).

Trilingual in English, German, and Portuguese, Dr. Anderson brings a truly international profile to her practice. She was certified as an analyst in Brazil and trained in active imagination with German Jungian analyst Ingrid Riedel. She is a founding member of the Brazilian Sandplay group and has published in sandplay journals across four countries. She developed the 'Painting Inner Images' workshop method, a creative approach to active imagination rooted in Jung's own discovery that contacting and painting inner images can serve as a profound pathway into the unconscious.

In her psychotherapeutic practice, Dr. Anderson works individually with clients, drawing on Jungian therapy, sandplay therapy, and her Painting Inner Images method. Her work is grounded in the belief that images — not words — are the language of the unconscious, and that the individuation process is a journey into one's own depth, fostering self-knowledge and the development of one's innate capacities.
