About
Maria Ignez de Carvalho-Hartmann is a Jungian child and adult analyst, musician, and music therapist in private practice in Germany. She is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Analytische Psychologie (DGAP) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), as well as a Teaching Member of Sandplay through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sandspieltherapie (DGST) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST). She trained in psychology at the Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes in Brazil and serves as a lecturer and control supervisor at the Institute for Analytical Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy in Heidelberg. Carvalho-Hartmann is internationally recognized for her expertise in sandplay therapy, teaching at the C.G. Jung Institut Stuttgart and at institutes in Italy, Switzerland, and Brazil. Her research emphasizes non-verbal creative expressions through sandplay, drawings, music, and body language, reflecting her integration of artistic and therapeutic modalities. She has published articles in Germany, Switzerland, the United States, England — including the Journal of Analytical Psychology — and Brazil. Her practice, shared with Dr. M. Hartmann, also maintains offices at Ziegelofenweg 36a in Speyer. Appointments are available by calling Tuesdays or Thursdays between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
