About
Lars Øian is a Jungian psychoanalyst in private practice in Bergen, Norway, who graduated from ISAP Zürich in 2010 and has maintained an independent clinical practice since 2006. He holds a master's degree in Philosophy of History from the University of Bergen, with additional studies in psychology, history of religion, and pedagogy. Øian brings extensive experience from crisis intervention work, including service at Bergen's Children's House within the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Police, university counseling, and thirteen years at a psychiatric hospital. His clinical and theoretical interests converge on the fragmentation of the inner world following traumatic experience, dissociative processes, and the emergence of inner figures in the analytic encounter. He is trained in EMDR for children, youths, and adults, as well as in family therapy and systemic praxis, art therapy, and the treatment of complex traumatization and dissociation. Øian has presented seminars on working with traumatized children and their families at ISAP Zürich, the C.G. Jung Institute in Copenhagen, and for the Lithuanian Association for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, reflecting his commitment to advancing the application of Jungian analysis in contexts of severe psychological distress.
