## Biography

Dr. Karen Hermann, Ph.D., is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan who has been practicing in the Kalamazoo area since 2005. She opened her independent practice, Hermann Psychological Services, in 2021. She is strongly committed to helping adult and adolescent clients work through life's most challenging times.

Dr. Hermann's approach to counseling focuses on facilitating healing and growth by integrating the many important aspects of the whole person, including an individual's thoughts, feelings, behaviors, relationships, and spiritual beliefs. She integrates techniques from cognitive-behavioral and humanistic theories of therapy and works with people on optimizing their relationships.

Her areas of particular interest and expertise include anxiety, panic, and OCD — using cognitive behavioral therapies and exposure and response prevention — as well as depression and grief and loss. She formerly practiced with a group practice before transitioning to independent practice.
