Karen Gold

Karen Gold is a Jungian analyst, psychotherapist, and music therapist practicing in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a music therapist and with both the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) as a Jungian analyst. She is a senior member and training therapist of the British Jungian Analytic Association, a division of the British Psychotherapy Foundation, and through this affiliation holds membership in the International Association for Analytical Psychology. Gold trained first as a music therapist before undertaking further training as a Jungian psychotherapist, reflecting her conviction that creative potential resides within all individuals as a resource for engaging with psychological struggle and conflict. She has worked as a therapist since 2008 with both adults and children in private practice, schools, family centres, care homes, and the National Health Service. Her clinical work incorporates verbal psychotherapy alongside art materials, sandtray, and music when clients find these non-verbal modalities helpful for accessing deeper feeling states. Gold has a particular interest in mothers and babies experiencing emotional or communicative distress, including difficulties with bonding, and holds the UKCP Child Proficiency Marker for experienced work with children and young people.
