Juha Klaavu is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and Jungian analyst based in Helsinki, Finland, with approximately twenty years of clinical experience in Finland and abroad. He trained at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich, Switzerland, and holds a master's degree in theology. He is accredited by the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), the Finnish-Estonian Group of Analytical Psychology, and the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (EFPP). His therapeutic approach integrates standard analytic methods with expressive modalities including drawing, painting, dreamwork, and active imagination. Klaavu has developed a particular specialisation in developmental trauma and the treatment of psychological instability, publishing his first book, Lapsuuden kehityksellinen trauma (Childhood Developmental Trauma), on this subject. His research and scholarly contributions address the intersection of Jungian thought and giftedness studies, including a chapter in The Second Handbook of Jungian Psychology. In addition to his clinical practice, he operates Psykoterapia Klaavu Oy and works as a trainer, lecturer, and supervisor for psychotherapists.
