About
John O'Brien is an accredited psychoanalyst, psychotherapist, and training analyst at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich, Switzerland. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Psychology, Therapy, and Counselling, along with certifications in social work, applied social studies, careers guidance, and education. He trained at the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich, earning a Diploma in Analytical Psychology, and has over thirty years of top-level experience as a consultant and coach to senior leaders, boards, leading financial institutions, and executive teams in global organisations across the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe, and Asia. O'Brien co-founded the International Association for Jungian Coaches and Consultants (IAJCC) and the C.G. Jung Centre, both dedicated to extending the application of analytical psychology beyond the consulting room. He is the author of The Professional Practice of Jungian Coaching: Corporate Analytical Psychology (Routledge, 2021). At the Jung Institute, he serves as a lecturer, examiner, and elected member of the Research Commission. His current research interests include the application of Jungian psychology to sports and health psychology, collective trauma, and leadership development.
