About

Dr Jill Yielder is a Jungian analyst, Training Analyst, and analytical psychotherapist with a private practice in Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. She is one of only a handful of Training Analysts for ANZSJA (the Australian and New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts) in New Zealand. Her work is grounded in the individuation process — the Jungian concept of bringing ego consciousness and the unconscious into relationship in order to become a whole person — and she works with emphasis on dream work, early life deficits, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss, and grief.

Dr Yielder offers Jungian analysis and psychotherapy primarily to individuals in 50-minute sessions, ideally scheduled on a regular weekly basis. She is also licensed to provide personality profiling using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) for individuals or groups. In addition, she offers professional supervision to those training to be analysts or psychotherapists, as well as other health professionals. Sessions are available during the day on Tuesdays through Fridays, with telephone or Zoom consultations available for those outside of Auckland.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Yielder is a published novelist, writing works that offer an allegorical view of psychological dynamics. She has previously worked at the University of Auckland as a curriculum developer, coordinator, and lecturer in the Personal and Professional Skills domain for the medical programme.
