About
Hetty Los is a Jungian analyst and UKCP-accredited psychotherapist whose professional trajectory traces an unusual path from the creative arts to depth psychology. She graduated from the Royal Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam, where she trained as a director, editor, and screenwriter. She subsequently spent several years creating documentaries in the Netherlands before relocating to London, where she worked for major British television channels and the Associated Press as a series producer and director, with credits also at Channel 4, Viacom, and VPRO.
This immersion in storytelling and the visual arts informs Los's approach to Jungian analysis, which she practiced after completing a Master's degree in Analytical Psychology through the Guild of Analytical Psychologists (GAPS) between 1999 and 2006. She is accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy and is a member of the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis College (CPJAC). Her clinical work encompasses a broad range of presenting concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, bereavement, abuse, addiction, OCD, phobias, stress, identity issues, sexual abuse, and questions of spirituality.
Originally from Amsterdam and now based in London, Los brings a multilingual and multicultural perspective to her practice. She offers individual sessions, home visits, and telephone counselling, making her services accessible to clients who may face mobility or geographic barriers. Her Dutch heritage and international media career lend her practice a distinctive cosmopolitan quality within the Jungian analytic tradition.
