About
Francesca Stratta is a psychiatrist, neurologist, psychotherapist, and Jungian psychoanalyst practicing privately in Rome. She earned her medical degree from the University of Rome La Sapienza in 1989, completed a research doctorate (PhD) in neuropsychology at the same institution in 1994, and specialized in neurology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 1997. She subsequently trained in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and, in 2022, became a certified Jungian psychoanalyst through ARPA (Associazione per la Ricerca in Psicologia Analitica), joining the International Association for Analytical Psychology.
Stratta's career spans fifteen years of full-time service as a senior psychiatrist within Italy's National Health Service, including positions at the Mental Health Center in Viterbo and the Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment Service at S. Pertini Hospital in Rome. She has held research positions at SISSA Trieste and Portland Oregon University, and served as a consultant neurologist at IRCCS Santa Lucia in Rome. Her scholarly output includes thirty-three publications in indexed international journals spanning neuroscience, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy.
Her academic teaching has encompassed anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system, psychobiology, and child neuropsychiatry at the Universities of Rome Tor Vergata and La Sapienza. The breadth of her formation across neurology, psychiatry, psychopharmacology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and Jungian analysis gives her an unusually integrative clinical perspective, bridging neuroscientific and depth-psychological approaches to the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and psychosomatic conditions.
