About

Fiann Paul is a Zurich-trained Jungian psychoanalyst, world record-holding explorer, and endurance athlete based in Iceland. Born Paweł Pietrzak in Warsaw, Poland, he later became an Icelandic citizen and adopted his current name. Paul holds four academic degrees, including a Master's degree in Architecture and a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, where he completed his analytic training in 2021. He is the only person to have achieved the Ocean Explorers Grand Slam, performing open-water crossings on each of the five oceans using human-powered vessels, and holds over forty Guinness World Records in ocean rowing. His clinical work focuses on the psychology of ultra-endurance performance and the psychological dynamics within the psyche of explorers and elite athletes. Beyond his psychoanalytic practice, Paul lectures at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich and serves as a consultant to high-performing individuals, guiding them in self-discovery through the lens of depth psychology. His unique combination of lived extreme experience and Jungian training positions him at a distinctive intersection of analytical psychology and peak human performance.
