About

Fernanda Gonçalves Moreira is a psychiatrist and Jungian analyst based in São Paulo, combining medical training with analytical psychology in a distinctive clinical practice. She earned her medical degree from the Federal University of Paraná (1995), completed her psychiatry residency at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) in 1999, and went on to earn a Master's in Medicine (2003) and a Doctorate in Sciences (2005) from the Department of Psychiatry at UNIFESP. She also holds a specialist certification in Health Education from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo. Her analyst training was completed through the Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia Analítica (SBPA), and she is a member of the IAAP.

Moreira serves as an adjunct professor at UNIFESP, where she coordinates the elective course Art, Culture and Mental Health in the medical program, supervises fifth-year psychiatry students weekly, and serves as vice-coordinator of the Medical Psychology and Integrated Semiology curricular units. Her academic work bridges psychiatry, analytical psychology, and the arts, reflecting a commitment to holistic medical education.

Her published work in the journal Junguiana explores resilience, individuation, and the intersection of nature and psyche. Notable articles include Resiliência e diversidade na individuação, which draws on observations of Cerrado Rupestre vegetation; Resiliência no Brejo da Cruz: sobrevivência e individuação (2011); and a Jungian reading of the Harry Potter saga examining narcissistic wounding and resilience tutors (2015). She has presented at the XXII International Congress for Analytical Psychology on topics including online psychotherapy and the Ego-Self axis in trauma. She serves on the editorial board of the Latin American Journal of the Brazilian Society of Analytical Psychology and works clinically with adults and adolescents from age fourteen.
