About
Dmytro Zaleskyi, M.D., is a psychiatrist and Jungian analyst based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and the first IAAP-certified analyst in the country. Born in 1964, he graduated from the Kyiv Medical Institute in 1988 with a degree in medicine from the Department of Psychiatry. He achieved certification as an Individual Member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology in 2010, having completed the Russian Router training program of the IAAP in Moscow. He served as the first President of the Official IAAP Development Group in Ukraine, playing a foundational role in establishing analytical psychology within the Ukrainian professional landscape. Early in his career, Zaleskyi worked at the Kyiv City Psycho-neurological Hospital and the All-Union Research Center for Radiation Medicine, where from 1986 to 1991 he served as a liquidator during the Chernobyl disaster, providing care as a medical assistant, neurologist, and psychotherapist. He later served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as Chief of his battalion's medical service from 2015 to 2016. During the ongoing war, he has remained near Kyiv, conducting training in Tactical Medicine for soldiers as part of the First Voluntary Mobile Hospital organization.
