About

Diana Oxley, PhD, LPC, is a Jungian Analyst and Licensed Professional Counselor based in Portland, Oregon. She provides adult individual and couples counseling, with a focus on helping clients follow a meaningful life path and overcome obstacles to growth that often arise in early adulthood, midlife, or later life. She encourages clients to pay close attention to their dreams, bodies, emotions, and significant life events as sources of inner knowledge, and offers a process to help clients become aware of early-life defenses that now pose barriers to reconnecting with their deepest self. She also provides documented strategies to help clients cope with depression, anxiety, and destructive behaviors.

Diana is a diplomate of the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich, Switzerland, where her training included study of ancient sources of wisdom in myth, fairy tale, and religion; analysis of symbols in dreams and art; personal psychotherapy; and supervised clinical work. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Arizona State University and completed master's level work in counseling psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, including a yearlong clinical internship at Eugene Family Institute. She is a member of the Pacific Northwest Society of Jungian Analysts, the Council of North American Societies of Jungian Analysis, and the International Association of Analytical Psychology.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Diana conducted research and technical assistance on high school reform at district and national levels, with positions at Bank Street College of Education in New York City, Temple University, University of Oregon, and Education Northwest in Portland, OR. She brings extensive knowledge of educational and work organizations, as well as skill at facilitating communication and resolving conflict, to her clinical practice. She has published in the Journal of Analytical Psychology (2023) on the mythological underpinnings of feminine development, and authored an unpublished thesis titled 'Re-Membering Aphrodite' for the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich (2019).
