About
Derron Santin is a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) practicing depth therapy in San Francisco, with a style that moves fluidly from present to past and back to a clearer and more empowered present. He is in advanced Jungian training and brings a notably broad clinical range — from psychiatric settings to tech entrepreneurs and bankers. He dedicates significant practice focus to couples work and runs a men's group with particular focus on masculine psychology and individuation.
Derron listens not only to what is being said, but to what is being communicated — often two different things — allowing him to sense what a person is calling for in any given moment. He welcomes all feelings and expression, from joy and hope to the darker emotions clients may have learned to hide. His own extensive personal work is ongoing, which he credits with keeping him grounded in his body, clear in his mind, and open in his heart.
From an early age, Derron was sensitive to and present for others. He has experienced the deadening weight of despair as well as the overwhelming joy that comes from feeling compassion for all beings. He has explored many forms of healing — including creative writing, tennis, swimming, yoga, meditation, and photography — and has found psychotherapy unique in that it offers a genuine healing relationship. His office is located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, near Fillmore Street.
