About

Denis Charrier-Adams is a licensed psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst maintaining a bilingual private practice in Montreal. He holds a Ph.D. in Religious Studies with a Jungian psychoanalytic focus from the University of Montreal, an M.A. in Psychology from Chicago, and a B.Sc. from the University of Wales. His Diploma in Analytical Psychology was earned at the Jung Institute of Pittsburgh through the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts, and he is recognized by the IAAP through the Association of Jungian Psychoanalysts of Quebec (APJQ).

Charrier-Adams brings an unusually broad clinical background to his analytic practice. He has worked in research at the medical clinic Actuel in Montreal, provided palliative care counseling at Rosemont Hospital, served as a group therapist with Youth Protection, and volunteered as a suicide line counselor. He has also trained in Eye Movement Integration, an approach to trauma processing. His conference presentations span a wide range of topics, including drug-induced dreams in psychotherapy (International AIDS Congress, 2005), trauma and eye movement integration, child abuse and incest trauma, and Jungian interpretations of nightmares and possession states.

His practice integrates Jungian and Lacanian psychoanalytic perspectives. He works with adults navigating trauma, nightmares, grief, and existential questions, drawing on his research background in religious studies and his extensive clinical experience in palliative care and crisis intervention. He is a member of the Quebec Board of Psychologists and conducts sessions in both French and English.
