About
Cristian Constantinescu is a Jungian analyst, IAAP supervisor, and clinical psychologist based in Bucharest, Romania, who has played a foundational role in building Jungian institutional infrastructure in his country. He holds an IAAP membership since 2019, and in 2024 was elevated to the status of IAAP supervisor and trainer — a recognition of his contributions to the training of the next generation of Romanian Jungian analysts.
Constantinescu's path to analytical psychology began with a degree in philosophy in 1998, followed by a master's in analytical psychotherapy from Titu Maiorescu University in 2002 and Gestalt psychotherapy training in 2004. His immersion in sandplay therapy began in 2009 under the guidance of Ruth Ammann, and he started personal analysis with an Italian Jungian analyst in 2010, receiving training and supervision from sandplay therapists across multiple countries. He completed a psychology degree from Titu Maiorescu University in 2023 and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Bucharest, researching the literary imaginary of Rosicrucian literature.
In 2021, Constantinescu co-founded the Romanian Society for Jungian Analysis (SRAJ), which received certification in 2023 from the Romanian College of Psychologists to offer a basic training program in analytical psychotherapy. He also founded Association LAPIS in 2011 to promote analytical therapy and sandplay. His clinical work spans children, adolescents, and adults, with specializations in sandplay therapy, active imagination, couples therapy, psychosomatic support, and group work with vulnerable populations.
