About
Arash Golnam is a Jungian psychoanalyst trained at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, now based in Lima, Peru. A citizen of Iran and Switzerland, his intellectual trajectory is notably interdisciplinary: he holds a Ph.D. in Management of Technology from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), a Master of Science in System Dynamics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Before his turn toward depth psychology, he served as a university lecturer, systems scientist, consultant, and mathematical modeler.
Golnam's practice weaves together three seemingly disparate threads — Persian mystical poetry, Jungian psychoanalysis, and plant medicine — into a coherent therapeutic and scholarly vision. His relocation to Lima brought him into close contact with Shipibo healing traditions and the ceremonial use of plant medicine, experiences he describes as profoundly enriching his understanding of the body, non-intellectual modes of knowing, and the unconscious. These encounters inform his clinical work and his teaching.
He is the author of 'HAFEZ: A Poetic Portal Into the Soul,' a book exploring the depth-psychological dimensions of the fourteenth-century Persian poet Hafez. He offers courses and presentations through the Jung Platform and the JUNG Archademy, including lectures on Hafez's poetry and on the intersection of plant medicine and Jungian psychology. His website indicates that he offers online psychoanalytic sessions, making his practice accessible to clients internationally from his base in Lima.
