## Biography

Anton Evgenyevich Semashko is a Jungian analyst based in Samara, Russia, practicing analytical therapy, training analysis, and supervision. He is a member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and the Association of Analytical Psychologists of Russia (AAPР), and serves as Vice President of the Association of Analytical Psychologists (AAP). He is co-founder and Executive Director of the Institute of Analytical Psychology (IAP), where he also teaches and supervises. He has practiced psychology since 2011 and worked as an analyst since 2015, following graduate training in psychology at RAO University (2006–2011), clinical work at Samara Psychiatric Hospital (2009), and analytical training through IAP/SAGA/MOTSAP (2014–2016) and the IAAP-accredited AAPР program (2018–2024).

His clinical and pedagogical work centers on dream analysis, the analytical relationship, and the dynamics of transference and countertransference. His research interests extend into field theories of analytic interaction and the application of concepts from physics — particularly quantum mechanics — to psychoanalytic theory. He has presented regularly at AAPР and AAP conferences, including "The Collapse of Analysis: Destruction of Mutual Encounter" (2022), "The Causal Principle of Analytical Amplification" (2024), and "Trauma and Transference: Defining Transference Interference" (2025). The last of these introduced his original construct of transference interference — a formulation in which dissociated ego fragments generate independent transference waves that amplify or cancel through coherence or decoherence before reaching their target.

Semashko understands analytical therapy not as the removal of symptoms but as a disciplined meeting of consciousness and the unconscious in which the ego is gradually reconnected with the Self through careful attention to personal history — birth, childhood, family, and adult life — as the ground from which present understanding and future direction can emerge. He sees clients in person in Samara and online internationally, and offers consultations in Russian and English.
