The leading scholar on Jung and religion. Christiane Brooks Johnson Memorial Professor Emerita of Psychiatry and Religion at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Jungian analyst in private practice. Born January 1, 1938 in Princeton, New Jersey. Graduated B.A. from Radcliffe College (1959), M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary (1962), Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary (1967), and L.H.D. (honorary). Episcopalian. Won the Oskar Pfister Award for contributions to religion and psychology (1996). Author of over 25 books including 'The Feminine in Christian Theology and in Jungian Psychology,' 'Finding Space: Winnicott, God, and Psychic Reality,' 'Spiritual Aspects of Clinical Work,' 'The Female Ancestors of Christ,' 'Madness & Creativity,' and 'The Psychoid, Soul and Psyche.' Co-authored works with late husband Barry Ulanov including 'Cinderella and Her Sisters' and 'The Healing Imagination.' Editorial board member of Journal of Analytical Psychology. Archive of her papers (1951-2015) held at Burke Library, Columbia University.
